Women of Taste

For the past three months I’ve been volunteering with the amazing nonprofit group Girls Incorporated. Their uber cool tagline “Inspiring all Girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold” pretty much sums up why I chose to help out….being strong, smart, and bold is what I’ve always aspired to be. When I heard that my local Girls Inc. affiliate office would be holding a food and wine fundraising event called Women of Taste I couldn’t resist pitching in to help.
On September 30th at the Oakland Museum over forty local restaurateurs, chefs, food artisans, and beverage purveyors will offer tastings to support Girls Inc. of Alameda County education programs. If you’re located near the San Francisco Bay Area this is a must attend event for local foodies.
If you volunteer to help you can attend for free or at a discount!
What’s cool….
- - The Women of Taste Bay Area chefs’ recipe collection online.
- Great food and beverage tastings from local chefs, wineries, and more.
- The Art for Epicures culinary art auction with items from Maya Angelou and Yoko Ono.
- Tons of exclusive silent auction items you can bid on.
If you have a Bay Area food blog please consider helping by linking to their website with one of the Women of Taste banner images, and let your readers know they still need volunteers. Girls Inc. of Alameda County offers academic enrichment activities, skill-building programs, and counseling services to more than 7,000 youth and their families annually.
See you there!
