A Taste for French Adventures

LongVillage_0106.jpgI recently stumbled across The Long Village…an amazingly beautiful magazine style website that features the real life stories of Kate Hill. For fifteen years she has lived on board her 19th century Dutch barge as captain, writer, cook and adventurer; serving up food to customers along the Canal de Deux Mers in Southwest France. She also runs the cooking school The French Kitchen, and writes about the Garonne River Valley in Gascony on her blog. I can hardly wait for our upcoming trip to Southern France and Spain, I’m hoping another Long Village issue will come out before then.

Hi - came to you through DP (northpointaiki). Nice blog!

Culinary Journey of Gascony is a longtime favorite of mine. The life aboard the canal, the food, the people. Ms. Hill is a great writer; I’d love to take part in her “journey.” Enjoy yours!

OMG, I think you & I need to do a cooking school vacation. How fun would that be do try and do this summer in France? Or perhaps Spain? Hmmmm, I wonder if there are any such things in New Zealand?
